Google analytics is an important free tool for webmasters. In Search Engine Optimization it is an important tool for SEO analysts. It is used to know the details of visitors like number of visitors, location of visitors, time spending in the webpage etc.. Google introduced this service in November 2005. Now it is the most widely used analytics by users.

How To Create A New Google Analytics Account

  • Click on http://www.google.com/analytics to go to google analytics.
  • Then click on the sign in option on the top of the page.
  • Click on the google analytics option
  • Then google will ask for sign in to the google account
  • Click sign up

  • Add the details Account Name, Website Name, Website URL, select an Industry Category and Reporting Time Zone                              
  • Click on the Get Tracking ID option below the page.
  • While we click on the button, the tracking code will be shown.
  • Copy the tracking code and paste it into the head section of the website which is to be verified.
  • Get back into the google analytics and click on the verify button. 
Now the website has been verified and now we can take analytic reports from it.

  • Average Duration Session - Average duration time of a session by users.
  • Acquisition Acquisition is how you gain users
  • Bounce Rate - The percentage of single page visits 
  • Behavior - It is the data helps to improve your content
  • Conversion Rate -It is the activity of the user which fulfil the aim of the webpage.
  • Pageviews - Number of page viewed.
  • Pages/Session - Average number of pages viewed by visitors
  • Sessions - It is the period of time that a user spent in the website
  • Traffic - Total number of visits to a website
  • % New Session - Percentage of the first time visit.

In Search Engine Optimization, On page SEO and Off page SEO are the two major ways of a page optimization. This techniques were used to improve google's page ranking. Both of the techniques are aimed to achieving the same goal through different ways. Here are some on page optimization techniques in SEO is listed in this article.

On Page optimization is other wise known as On-site SEO. On Page optimization techniques in SEO is the modifications occurs inside the website to get highest position in search results. It includes adding informative and simple content, good keyword selection, presence of keywords in appropriate places, etc.

1. Domain Name - Domain names are used in the URLs to identify a particular website. Keywords in the domain name is usually important but it should be short, simple,and memorable for users.

2. Meta Title - Other wise called title tag. Meta title is a group of words which appear as clickable link of a search engine result. Using targeted keyword in meta title helps the website to gets highest page ranking. Presence of keywords in the title tag will improve the visits by the users to the webpage. The maximum characters should be 55-60 words. It shouldn't be too long or too short. The title should be simple, meaningful and informative. 

3. Meta Description - Meta description is the data that summarizing  the content of a website or webpage. Meta description usually contains 155-160 characters . Blog added webpages contains 154 characters because its description is added with its published date.

Meta title and Meta description are 2 important factors in SEO. Beacause if a person is searching for anything in Google, the search engine initialy show the search result only with meta title and meta description. If the user is satisfied with your title and description, then only the user visit your page. So the meta title and meta description should be impressive and informative for both users and search engines.

4. Content Optimization - Content Optimization is an important factor in SEO. The content should be simple, unique, meaningful and informative. Quality of the content will definitely improve the page ranking of the website.Content is the major part of your webpage. It includes all the informations about the webpage.

Tips for Content Optimization,

  • Content should be simple and informative
  • Try to add keywords in the content.
  • Try to add keyword before full stop or a coma.
  • Try to add some important words in bold letters.
  • Add content without grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Avoid the duplication of other webpage's content. 

Keyword density is the ratio of keywords with in the total number of words in a content. Recommended keyword density is 1-3%.

5. Image Optimization - Images within a content makes the website looks more attractive. Try to add informative images in the webpage. Add the focusing keyword as the alt text for any one of the  images in the webpage.

6. Anchor Text Optimization - Anchor text is the clickable hyperlinked text in the content. Try to use best keywords as anchor text.
  • Internal Link - Internal link is the hyperlink that direct you to a new webpage or

  • External Link - External link is the hyperlink that direct you to a new website. External linking is not good for your website. Because these type of linking will pass the power or equity of our webpage to another page. Transfer of the power or equity from our website to another website is known as Link Juice. So it will definitely affect your webpage's page ranking. Apply nofollow relation to that anchor tag  to prevent link juice

Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is the process of optimizing or structuring of webpages to achieve a high search engine ranking.

This structuring process will make the website and its contents looks attractive, informative, relevant and easily find by the search engines and users. This will increase the number of visitors due to the high ranking. This optimizing process is done by the person called seo analyst.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin were the founders of google during their Ph.D at Stanford university.  It was unable to give rapid and all information for the web searchers initially, because google’s search algorithm was not well designed for crawling. This dis-function of google was recognized at the time of World Trade Centre attack ( 1st September 2001). During that time google was failed to give information for People about the attack.  Thus google planned to disclose some of their secrets. Then webmasters started following the guidelines and create easily available websites and google become a well known search engine.

Google Page ranking is the ranking of websites to determine the importance of the website. It is introduced by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Higher ranked pages seen on the top of the search result. If a person is searching for any services or products in Google, the search engine gives the search results. People usually visits the first few webpages of search results, That is the higher ranked pages, which is seen on the top of the search result. Page ranking system in google is important. Because search engine optimization (SEO) is aimed to achieve a higher page ranking for a website. 

Google Algorithm Updations

Niche Specific – Initial updation of google. Page ranking is depending on the number of keyword in the content. But webmasters started to add more and more keywords for top ranking of their website. Increase the number of keywords is called keyword stuffing.

Link Specific – Due to the spamming google decided to change the algorithm to Link Specific. Page ranking is depends on number of links from other websites. Webmasters again spammed this algorithm by creating and selling many websites and provide links to other websites

Quality Link Specific –  Here page ranking is depends on the link from a website with quality  ie,  the website should have high page rank.

Google Panda –  It is the new algorithm of google released on February 2011. This new version is active against content spamming by removing copied contents from other website, low quality websites etc…. Google panda is otherwise called Google Farmer.
Google Penguin - Introduced on April 2014. It is used against bad links. It remove all the websites that buying links for higher page ranking.  
EMD Updation -  Is Exact Match Domain. It is launched on September 2012. Act as a filter against poor quality pages.
Google Pigeon – This updation is introduced on 24th July 2014. it provide use full and effective local search results
Humming Bird Updation –  Introduced on September 2013. Aimed  to focus on the meaning of words
Mobile Geddon Updation – introduced on April 2015. Used to provide mobile friendly pages for google users.
Rank Brain Updation –  Rank brain is a machine to provide use full search results for web searchers. it released on October 2015
